The next day was Christmas Eve. After lunch, Miriam and her mommy sat down on the couch to talk. "I've been thinking a lot about your question yesterday, Miriam," her mommy began. "It really does make sense that we would give something to Jesus this Christmas. After all, it is his birthday."
Miriam smiled. "Maybe we could give three gifts just like the wise men did!" she replied excitedly.
"Maybe we can!" said her mommy. "Let's see...the first gift they gave was gold. Gold was very precious and they could have used it to to buy things they wanted or needed. Instead, they gave it to Jesus."
"Maybe we could give him some of our money, Mommy!" said Miriam. "I have been saving some money. I still have some of my birthday money left."
"That's a great idea, Miriam," her mommy said. "Since we can't see Jesus, maybe we can use our money on something He would enjoy. Maybe we could give it to someone in need. After all, Jesus says when we do something kind for the poor or the sick, it's like we are doing it for him."
